The Inland Empire is home to more than four million people and consists of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Located approximately 40 miles east of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the Inland Empire has one of the largest distribution, warehousing and logistics systems in the nation. The goods movement industry accounts for tens of thousands of jobs in the region and a modern, reliable transportation system is vital to protecting and nurturing the industry and the jobs it creates.
The conference is a continuation of an ongoing effort to develop a regional strategy to improve Interstate 10, which is traversed by more than 24,000 trucks and 200,000 other vehicles daily.
